JUNE TRAFFIC BANS IN EUROPE [UPDATE]
In Poland, we celebrate Pentecost on Sunday, the 5th of June. However, in some countries, it is celebrated on Monday the 6th of June. So traffic bans for trucks will apply there on that day. On the other hand, on the 16th of June, we celebrate Corpus Christi.
The holiday-related bans apply on the following dates:
2ND JUNE (THURSDAY)
– Austria – trucks are banned from 9 to 22 on the A12 and Brennerautobahn A13 towards Italy in connection with the Italian holiday. It applies to tractors with trailers with a GVW of tractor or trailer over 3.5 tons, trucks, and articulated vehicles with a GVW exceeding 7.5 tons.
Italy – (public holiday, Italian Republic Day) traffic ban is valid from 7 to 22, applies to trucks with a GVM from 7.5 tons.
4TH JUNE (SATURDAY, THE DAY BEFORE PENTECOST)
– France – from 22 to 24, preceding the holiday ban on trucks and vehicle combinations with a GVM above 7.5 tons,
– Luxembourg – from 21.30 to midnight towards France and from 23.30 to midnight towards Germany (Saturday ban). The restriction applies to trucks whose GVW with or without a trailer exceeds 7.5 tons,
– Poland – from 18 to 22. The ban applies to trucks with a GVW over 12 tons. However, they do not apply to trucks returning from abroad,
– Hungary – from 22 to midnight, trucks, and agricultural tractors with trailers with a GVM above 7.5 tons will not be allowed to drive on those roads.
5TH JUNE (SUNDAY, PENTECOST)
– Austria – from midnight to 22:00;
– France – from 24:00 to 24:00;
– Luxembourg – from 24:00 to 21:45 (Sunday traffic ban),
– Germany – from 24:00 to 22 (Sunday traffic ban). It will not be possible to drive on German roads at that time with trucks with a GVM above 7.5 t and trucks trailers,
– Poland – from 8 to 22,
– Slovenia – from 8 to 22,
– Switzerland – from 24:00 to 24:00
– Hungary – from 6:00 to 22:00 (the ban was originally in force from 12:00 to 22:00, but the Hungarian government decided to shorten it by 6 hours).
6TH JUNE (MONDAY, PENTECOST)
– Austria – from 24:00 to 22:00;
– France – from 24:00 to 22:00;
– Luxembourg – from 24:00 to 21:45;
– Germany – from 24:00 to 22:00;
– Switzerland – from 24:00 to 24:00;
– Hungary – from 6:00 to 22 (the ban on Sunday has been shortened by 6 hours);
– Italy – from 24:00 to 22:00 on the Brennero motorway for traffic north between Vipiteno/Sterzing and the Austrian border.
15TH JUNE (WEDNESDAY, THE DAY BEFORE CORPUS CHRISTI)
– Croatia – from 15 to 23. The ban applies to trucks and sets with a GVW above 7.5 tons, as well as trucks and vehicles with trailers exceeding 14 m in length,
– Poland – from 18 to 22.
16TH JUNE (THURSDAY, CORPUS CHRISTI)
– Austria – from 24:00 to 22:00;
– Croatia – from 14 to 23;
– Germany – from 24:00 to 22:00. The prohibition is valid only in the following states: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland;
– Poland – from 8 to 22;
– Italy – from 24:00 to 22:00 on the Brennero Highway.
21ST JUNE
– Croatia – the day before the public holiday – from 15 to 23.
22ND JUNE
– Croatia – Day of the fight against fascism – from 14 to 23.
25TH JUNE
– Croatia – Nationality Day – from 4 to 14;
– Slovenia – Independence Day – from 8 to 21. The ban applies to trucks and vehicle combinations with a GVW exceeding 7.5 tons and applies only to certain sections.
HOLIDAY TRAFFIC BANS IN POLAND
We remind you that from the 24 June to the 1 September this year, summer traffic bans for trucks are in force in our country. Trucks over 12 tons are not allowed to travel on Polish roads during this period:
– on Fridays from 18 to 22;
– on Saturdays from 8 to 14;
– on Sundays from 8 to 22.
